OCTOBER 2007
As is typical in Iowa, if you don't like the current weather, just wait a day and it will change! Since fall officially began we have had mild daytime temperatures and only the chance of frost two different nights. We have had occasional showers and are in the process of drying up from the last deluge of rain. Needless to say harvest has been slow. Right now the goal is to harvest the crops without getting stuck or making too many tracks in the field. The wet spots in some fields are going to either require more time and sun or a freeze.
September was a busy month for us with our cattle as we worked to get all of the calves weaned. Weaning may be the least time-comsuming part compared to evaluating and selecting the bulls and heifers for breeding stock. You will find the data for our yearling bulls and heifers posted on our website. However, we continually evaluate the performance, growth, disposition and soundness of our cattle and we won't sell animals that we wouldn't use ourselves.
Keep checking our website for updates on our consignments to the 2008 Iowa Beef Expo in February and for information on our 2008 Spring Preview and Patron Appreciation.
If you are looking for bulls or females, check out the data posted on our website or contact us. All animals are sold private treaty.
Thanks for your interest in our cattle and we welcome your inquiries and visits.
