THE VIEW FROM OUR KITCHEN TABLE...

NOVEMBER 2006

Mother Nature is certainly spoiling us! Although we have had some "typical" November temperatures and conditions, we are currently being spoiled by unusually mild temperatures. However, this is Iowa and the weather will most certainly change!

During October we completed the weaning of calves and have submitted the weaning data to the respective breed associations. Collecting and submitting data takes time, however, we believe this is imperative not only for our integrity as seedstock producers, but also for our customers.

We have made our initial decisions regarding the bulls and heifers we will keep as breeding stock to offer for sale or to use ourselves. However, we will continue to monitor for disposition, growth and soundness and will cull as necessary.

We are excited to be a part of the 2006-2007 Iowa Limousin Association Bull Performance Test and Sale. Besides being a consignor, Sarah is the Bull Test Coordinator. Keep checking for updates on LONG BOY 39S. The test is being conducted at the DMACC Dallas County Farm in Adel, Iowa with the sale to be held in April 2007.

William was re-elected to another term on the Iowa Limousin Association Board of Directors.

We are making plans for our "2007 Spring Preview and Patron Appreciation" on January 27, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. This annual event is a day to look at cattle and enjoy some of Sarah's cooking. We certainly love the opportunity to showcase our cattle, but more importantly we enjoy the chance to extend hospitality and fellowship to our patrons. We hope you will be able to join us.

Thanks for your interest in our cattle and we welcome your inquiries and visits.
