THE VIEW FROM OUR KITCHEN TABLE...

MAY 2007

Where did April go? I knew that I had been keeping busy, but didn't realize so much time had passed since I wrote the last "The View from our Kitchen Table..." Here's an update on the happenings.

Long Boy 39S was the second high-indexing bull in the 2007 I.L.A. Performance Bull Test. We were pleased with his performance and certainly thank the purchaser of our consignment. I was the coordinator of the 2007 I.L.A. Performance Bull Test. I enjoyed the challenge and the opportunity to work with the consignors. Now it is time for my next project!

We had an uneventful calving season this year and are certainly pleased to have our mothers calve on their own! William is very diligent about taking care of cattle year-round, but especially during calving season. However, taking care of cattle does not mean pampering! Our females and bulls will survive in your operation.

The arrival of warm weather means the focus of our activities turns to crops. We experienced warm weather early and everything turned green and started growing. Then we had a period of cold complete with sub-freezing temperatures and frost. Hay fields and pastures are slowly recovering and growth is slow. We have started planting corn and should be starting beans in the next few weeks.

We continue to evaluate the peformance, growth, disposition and soundness of the breeding stock we have selected to offer for sale or to use ourselves. If you are looking for bulls or females, check out the data posted on our website or contact us. Everything is sold private treaty on a first come, first served basis, so it is to your advantage to look early.

Thanks for your interest in our cattle and we welcome your inquiries and visits.

William and Sarah
