• Long and Sons Limousin was originally established in 1970. William purchased the registered purebred Limousin herd from his father in 1996. We currently maintain a herd of 100 registered cows. Each year we offer 30-40 Limousin and Lim-Flex® (Limousin x Red Angus) yearling and two-year old bulls for sale, in addition to bred heifers and cows.

• Limousin cattle are recognized for combining fertility, calving ease and low maintenance requirements with the ability to produce offspring with excellent growth, efficient gains and superior carcasses.

• Long and Sons Limousin is a life-time member of the North American Limousin Foundation (NALF), the Iowa Limousin Association (William currently serves on the Board.), and the Heartland Limousin Association.

• The "Show a Limousin -- Win a Limousin" program is for Iowa youth who exhibit a Limousin steer or heifer through 4-H or FFA. Participation in pre-determined shows will earn the exhibitor a chance to win a free Limousin heifer that can be used as the next year's project. LONG AND SONS LIMOUSIN DONATED THE HEIFER TO BE GIVEN AWAY AT THE IOWA STATE FAIR IN AUGUST 2006.
